Pavement
ASPHALT ROAD PROJECTS
SHARPSHOT® products are quickly becoming the industry standard for the full range of asphalt pavement projects. SHARPSHOT® GSF dark gray aggregates are ideal for sealcoating, slurry seals, chip sealing, Type I, Type II and Type III SHARPSHOT® aggregates.
LONGER LASTING BLACK SURFACE
Our aggregates are dark dray throughout each particle thus substantially reducing the quantity of carbon black needed in the admixture.
SHARPSHOT® will help maintain a rich, dark gray color for years even as the surface is subjected to high traffic wear and tear. With SHARPSHOT® you’ll see tomorrow what you see today. As pavements oxidize and turn gray, our dark gray rock aggregates keep pavements looking darker and newer.
The low absorption rate of SHARPSHOT® means less liquid required to achieve proper sealer viscosity and shorter cure times after application. This also means less downtime at the job site and quicker access to the pavement for the end user.
The angular shape and toughness of the SHARPSHOT® particles ensure a good anchor-lock pattern that can resist high static and dynamic loads resulting in a sealcoat that is more durable and provides excellent wet-track abrasion. Because we’re 100% fractured face, our angular shape means incredible interlocking strength means a thicker film and a longer-lasting film and is proven.
Safety is paramount when performing fog seals, many DOTS require a sanding during the critical cure phase. Most sanding is unsightly. Because Sharpshot’s dark gray color, not only will your next fog seal be safer it will also look better.
USE SHARPSHOT® ABRASIVES FOR NON-SKID AND LINE REMOVAL
NON-SKID
Non-Skid SHARPSHOT® makes a more durable non-skid product due to its hardness. It resists oxidation thus maintaining surface integrity. It features 100% fractured faces in its particles, is black in color and is UV-resistant.
LINE REMOVAL
Line Removal SHARPSHOT® is one of the fastest cutting expendable abrasives on the market, is environmentally-friendly, and contains less than 0.1% crystalline silica.
SHARPSHOT® is the ideal product for removing old and broken lines on asphalt pavement.
USE SHARPGUARD™ AGGREGATES FOR EPOXY OVERLAY
Mineral Research, Inc.’s 4x16F SharpGuard aggregate is an extremely clean, durable and tough iron silicate with Mohs hardness >7.
Our aggregates can be used to provide skid-resistant wear surfaces in bridge and parking deck overlays. With is sub-angular shape and 100% fractured faces SharpGuard adds superior friction to epoxy overlays, and acts as an excellent anti-skid layer on any driving surfaces.
With < 0.1% crystalline silica content, SharpGuard also shines in enhancing worker safety.
Sizing & Applications
MRI’s SHARPSHOT® GSF filler and aggregates are quickly becoming the industry standard for the full range of asphalt road projects: sealcoating, slurryseals, chip sealing, Type I, Type II and Type III aggregates.
An extra-fine grade abrasive for use on carpet, plastic and wood. This product is often used for antique restoration and cars. This fine sizing typically – with properly working equipment – produces a profile of less than 1.5 mil.
Medium grade for lightly corroded coatings and new steel. This Medium sizing typically – with properly working equipment -produces a profile of less than 2.0 – 3.0 mil.
